Summary: Phase 4. Sustained scale-up & integration

Every pregnant woman in Chile is eligible by law to receive free food supplements, under the National Supplementary Feeding Programme (NSFP), which is a component of the Primary Health Care System and part of the National Health Service. Food is distributed to pregnant and lactating women, among other population groups, according to the criteria established for each subprogram. The BEP supplement provided to pregnant and lactating women is a fortified powdered milk called Purita Mamá and is provided up to 5 months postpartum.
