- Mai A. Hoang (Helen Keller Intl) shared results from a cluster-randomized trial in Cambodia, showing higher adherence to MMS vs. iron–folic acid (IFA). Interestingly, providing a single large bottle of tablets did not compromise adherence compared to two smaller bottles.
- Emily Smith (George Washington University) presented findings from a recent IPD Meta-analysis, highlighting how the timing of initiation and adherence significantly influence MMS effectiveness.
Filomena Gomes, Senior Program Manager (MMS TAG) moderated the chat.
Participants gained insights into strategies promoting early initiation and sustained adherence, plus practical lessons from Cambodia’s study on achieving remarkably high adherence rates (95%) and had the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
